Canvas size. Both presets have a 9:16 shape. A wide photo needs a large crop to fill it. Fit keeps the whole scene with space around it.

What shape does the Story image preset create?
It creates a 1080 x 1920 image with a 9:16 shape. This is a tall canvas you can use to prepare a still image for a Story.
Why is part of my photo missing in the Story preview?
Fill crops a photo to cover the tall frame. Switch to Fit to keep the full image with space around it. Check the final Story preview in Instagram too.
Does the Story resizer add music or animation?
No. It downloads a still image. Add music, stickers, or other Story features in the app where you plan to share it.
