Canvas size. A feed photo, a link preview, and a Page cover serve different jobs. These presets are image canvases, not one size that fits every Facebook placement.
Publishing with Mallary. JPG or PNG works for Facebook feed and Story images through Mallary. Mallary also accepts WebP for feed images, but not for Facebook Story images.

What does the 1200 x 630 Facebook preset do?
It makes a wide landscape image. Use it as a starting canvas for your graphic, then check the placement where you plan to share it. Other post types can need a different shape.
Can I use this tool to resize a Facebook Page cover?
You can enter a custom width and height, but the listed presets are for post images. Check the current Page cover size and mobile crop before you choose your custom size.
Will resizing fix the image shown when I share a link?
It only creates a new image file. A link preview also depends on the image set on the page you share. Update that page's preview image and check the result in Facebook.
