Frequently asked questions

Getting Started

Product Basics

Do you use official APIs for each platform?

Yes. Mallary uses the official APIs from each social platform. We do not scrape social sites or ask for your social media password. Mallary is a Meta Verified Tech Provider and a registered LLC in Lexington, Kentucky, USA.

Do I need to create developer apps for each platform?

No. Mallary manages the platform apps and the main setup for you. You only need to connect your social accounts and approve the access each platform asks for. Your Mallary plan and each platform's own limits still apply.

Which social platforms does Mallary support?

Mallary supports X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, Threads, and Bluesky. See our Supported Platforms page for the post types and options available on each one.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You can post from the Mallary dashboard, ChatGPT, Claude, n8n, Make, and other tools. Developers can also use the API, MCP, or CLI.

Does the Mallary name appear on my social media posts?

No. Posts published through Mallary do not show the Mallary name. Mallary is not sold as a full white-label service, but your audience will not see Mallary added to your posts.

What happens when a social platform changes its API or rules?

Mallary watches for platform changes and updates its connections when needed. A platform outage, new rule, or lost permission can still stop a post. If you need to act, Mallary will show a clear message.

Can I move from another social media tool to Mallary?

Yes. Connect your social accounts, then make new posts and schedules in Mallary. Posts that are already on your social accounts will stay there. Mallary does not import an old tool's post history or scheduled queue.

Can I post from my phone?

Yes. The Mallary dashboard works on phones, tablets, and computers. You can also use supported AI and automation tools from your phone.

Profiles

Profiles And Integrations

Can I manage more than one brand or business?

Yes. One Mallary account can have several profiles. You can make a profile for each brand, business, client, or channel. Each profile keeps its own connected social accounts together. Your plan sets how many profiles and accounts you can use.

Can I use the dashboard and automation together?

Yes. The dashboard, API, MCP, CLI, ChatGPT, Claude, n8n, and Make can use the same Mallary profiles and connected accounts. You do not need to connect each social account again for every tool.

Can I use Mallary with ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Mallary has a ChatGPT plugin and a Claude Connector. Both use OAuth, so you can sign in without copying an API key into the chat.

Can I use Mallary with n8n, Make, Zapier, or AI agents?

Yes. Mallary has integrations for n8n and Make. It also works with AI agents through MCP, the CLI, and agent skills. There is no Mallary app for Zapier today, but a developer can connect Zapier through the Mallary API or webhooks. See all Mallary integrations.

What happens if a social connection expires?

Mallary refreshes the connection when the platform allows it. You may need to reconnect if you remove Mallary, change your password, or the platform blocks the old connection for safety. The dashboard will tell you what to do.

Can I delete a Mallary profile?

Yes. Open Profiles in the dashboard and choose Delete Profile. Mallary will ask you to move or disconnect each social account first. Posts already published on social media will not be deleted.

Publishing

Scheduling, Posting, And Analytics

How reliable is scheduling?

Mallary uses background queues to send posts at the time you choose. It checks your post first and retries short-term errors. A social platform can still have an outage or reject a post, so Mallary shows the result for every platform.

Can I track analytics for posts sent through Mallary?

Yes. You can see views, likes, comments, and other results when the social platform shares them. New posts are checked each hour for the first day, then less often as they get older. Not every platform gives the same stats. Learn more about social media analytics.

Can I track followers and subscribers?

Yes. Mallary saves supported follower and subscriber counts once each day. You can see growth over time in the dashboard or get the latest counts from the Audience API.

What kinds of posts can I publish?

Mallary supports text, images, videos, Stories, Reels, Shorts, and carousels where the platform's official API allows them. The choices are different for each platform, so check the Supported Platforms page for details.

Can I schedule videos?

Yes. You can schedule videos for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Pinterest, Threads, and Bluesky when the post meets that platform's rules.

Can I add a custom thumbnail or cover?

Yes, where the social platform allows it. Mallary supports covers or thumbnails for Facebook feed videos, Instagram feed videos and Reels, YouTube long videos, and TikTok videos.

Can each platform use different text and settings?

Yes. Start with one main message, then change the text and options for each platform. You can set things such as a YouTube title, an Instagram post type, a Pinterest board, or a Reddit community. See the platform options guide.

Do you retry failed posts?

Yes. Mallary retries most short-term errors. A post can have up to three total tries. The wait gets longer after each failed try.

Do you retry every error?

No. Mallary does not retry an error that needs you to make a change. This can happen when an account needs to reconnect, media is not allowed, or a required choice is missing.

How do you help prevent duplicate posts?

Mallary saves the result after a platform accepts a post. If the same job runs again, Mallary checks that saved result before it tries to publish. This lowers the chance of a duplicate post.

Do you check platform media rules before publishing?

Yes. Mallary checks file type, file count, video length, image shape, text length, and other rules that apply to the post. It gives you a clear message when it finds a problem.

Do you check my post before sending it?

Yes. Mallary checks the connection, media, and required choices before it sends the post. These checks catch many common problems, but the social platform still makes the final choice.

Do you refresh social account tokens?

Yes, when the social platform allows it. If the platform cancels the connection or asks for a new sign-in, Mallary will ask you to reconnect that account.

Can I delete or cancel a scheduled post?

Yes, as long as Mallary has not started publishing it. Once publishing starts, Mallary blocks deletion so part of the post is not removed by mistake.

Engagement

Comments And Replies

What is Comments Under Post?

It lets you add up to three follow-up comments when you create a post. Mallary publishes the main post first, then adds the comments on supported platforms and post types. Learn more.

Which platforms support comments under posts?

Comments Under Post works on supported Facebook and Instagram posts, YouTube, Threads, X, and Bluesky. It does not work on Stories or TikTok posts.

Can a scheduled post include follow-up comments?

Yes. Mallary saves the comments with the scheduled post. It adds them after the main post goes live on a supported platform and post type.

What are AI Auto Replies?

AI Auto Replies find new brand questions on your posts and write short replies using your saved business details. They are available on Pro and Business plans for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, and Bluesky.

How fast do AI Auto Replies happen?

Many replies happen within a few minutes. X and YouTube may take about 15 minutes before Mallary finds a new comment. Platform limits or a busy queue can make a reply take longer.

Can I turn AI Auto Replies off?

Yes. You can turn them on or off in your dashboard settings. You can also control them for each post when your plan supports this feature.

Do AI Auto Replies answer every comment?

No. Mallary focuses on questions about your brand, product, service, price, support, or post. It skips repeat comments, simple statements, and questions that are not about your business.

What if a platform blocks a reply?

Mallary records the error so our support team can check it. Work on other supported platforms will keep going.

Can I get my post comments through the API?

Yes. The Comments API returns comments and replies from supported social platforms. See the List Comments guide.

Can I reply to comments through the API?

Yes. You can send a reply to a supported comment through the Mallary API. See the Reply to Comment guide.

Developer Tools

API, MCP, And CLI

Are there rate limits?

Yes. Mallary uses per-user limits across the API, MCP, and CLI. These limits help keep the service fast and stable. Your plan and each social platform may also have limits. See the developer docs.

What is MCP in Mallary?

MCP lets an AI tool use Mallary through a standard set of tools. It can work with posts, media, comments, analytics, audience counts, profiles, settings, webhooks, and connected platforms.

Where is the MCP endpoint?

The Mallary MCP endpoint is https://mallary.ai/mcp.

How do I sign in to MCP?

Use OAuth when your MCP app supports it. You will sign in to Mallary and approve the connection. API keys are still supported for manual tools and older setups. See the MCP sign-in guide.

Do plan and rate limits apply to MCP?

Yes. MCP uses the same Mallary account, plan, and rate limits as the dashboard and API.

What is the Mallary CLI?

The Mallary CLI lets you use Mallary from a terminal. You can work with posts, uploads, comments, analytics, audience counts, profiles, settings, webhooks, and connected platforms. Read the CLI guide.

How do I sign in to the Mallary CLI?

Run mallary auth login for the easiest setup. It opens a browser sign-in with OAuth. You can still use a Mallary API key when OAuth is not a good fit. See the CLI sign-in guide.

Can I use the CLI in scripts, CI, or AI agents?

Yes. The CLI has clear terminal output for people and JSON output for scripts and agents. It can be used in cron jobs, CI jobs, internal tools, OpenClaw, Hermes, and other agent tools.

Can the CLI upload local files and use platform options?

Yes. The CLI can upload local images and videos that you choose to Mallary before a post. It can also use a JSON file for settings that are different on each platform.

Do plan and feature limits apply to the CLI?

Yes. The CLI follows the same plan, posting, scheduling, analytics, and feature rules as the rest of Mallary.
